Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Agad is a trail app for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and the choices you have. In short: your trails stay on your device, we don't run ads or analytics, and we never sell data.
Your account
You sign in with Apple, Google, or an email and password. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which stores your name, email address and the sign-in method you used. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email; Apple then gives us a private relay address. We use this information only to identify your account and to show your name in the app and as the author of GPX files you export.
Location and your trails
Agad uses your location to record trails, show where you are on the map, and guide you along a route. While recording, it can keep using location with the screen off. Recorded trails, imported GPX files and your profile settings are stored only on your device. We don't upload them to any server.
- Maps: map tiles are loaded from Mapbox. To show the map, your device requests the area you are viewing, which tells Mapbox the general area. Mapbox may also collect anonymous usage data under the Mapbox privacy policy.
- Directions to a trail: when you follow a trail, your current position and the trail start are sent to the Mapbox Directions service to calculate a walking route.
- Offline maps are downloaded from Mapbox and stored on your device.
Apple Watch and Apple Health
On Apple Watch, recordings run as Apple Health workouts. With your permission, Agad saves each hike or trail run to Health as a Hiking or Running workout with its route, and reads your heart rate during the workout to show it on the watch. Health data stays in Apple Health on your devices; Agad does not send it anywhere else and does not use it for advertising. Hikes recorded on the watch are copied to the Agad app on your paired iPhone directly between your devices.
Photos
If you choose a photo for a share image, it is used only on your device to create that image. Agad doesn't upload your photos. Sharing happens through your phone's share sheet, to the app you choose.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking SDKs.
- No analytics on how you use the app.
- We never sell or rent your information.
Deleting your data
You can delete any trail in the app; uninstalling Agad removes all trails and offline maps from your device. To delete your account (name and email held by Firebase Authentication), contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
Children
Agad is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
